The month of Hajj and Eid al-Adha — the final and most sacred month of the Hijri year.
Dhul Hijjah is the twelfth and final month of the Islamic Hijri calendar. It contains Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, and Eid al-Adha. The first ten days are among the most virtuous of the year. On the 9th, pilgrims stand at the plains of Arafah — a powerful act that expiates two years of sins. Eid al-Adha begins on the 10th with the sacrifice of animals in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim's devotion.
