The month of voluntary fasting and preparation for Ramadan, containing the blessed night of Nisf Sha'ban.
Sha'ban is the eighth month of the Hijri calendar. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to fast frequently during this month, saying it is a month that people neglect between Rajab and Ramadan. On the 15th night (Nisf Sha'ban), many Muslims engage in extra worship and supplication. It is a month of spiritual preparation before the blessed month of Ramadan.
